Jonathan is a Composer and Guitar & Piano Teacher based in Edinburgh. 

He started learning piano and guitar at a young age and he developed a passion for music early on. As of June 2016, he secured a 2:1 Bachelor of Music with Honours from the University of Edinburgh where he was then accepted onto a Postgraduate Degree. From November 2017 he also secured a Master of Science with Merit in Composition for Screen at the University of Edinburgh where he was also awarded the Bucher-Fraser Scholarship. 

 

As a composer, Jonathan has a big focus on composition for Screen which is something he specialized in throughout his studies. Some of his Compositions he has done for Screen have been shown at numerous Film Festivals around the World and also on the BBC. With his teaching from many different individuals in composition this means he can write in a diverse range of styles and genres making him the perfect composer for any film, documentary or animation. In addition to this he also releases solo music under his own name. The first of which being his EP “Journey Through Confinement” in 2021 followed by his singles “Discordant” in 2022, "Reinstate" and "Circle" in 2023. 

 

Since 2013 Jonathan has been teaching Guitar and Piano privately building up a good reputation around the Edinburgh area. He ranges in abilities from complete beginners to more advanced students and he also varies what style of music to each student depending on their preference. His experience in teaching involves private tuition, music school lessons, community school projects, voluntary/charity teaching work and also spending a month in New Zealand teaching at Owairaka Primary School. 

Currently Jonathan teaches privately at his home studio and also online.
